After similar initial profiles, the response of the barrier to the same wave conditions and sea level, but different lagoon levels. Huge berm accretion under low lagoonal water levels. Comparitively little profile change under high lagoon levels. It might suggest that a seawards-directed hydraulic gradient has little effect on beach stability under 'normal' wave conditions, whereas a landwards-directed seepage promotes berm building.
